Description

This is a terrace of five houses located at 37 to 45 Primrose Hill, built in 1901 by Grayson and Ould. The houses are roughcast on a brick base with a tiled roof and consist of one storey with an attic. The terrace features five bays, with the fourth bay projecting under a gable. There is a timber band above the ground floor, and the projecting eaves create canopies over the entrances, which also have an end curved fascia board. The windows are leaded casements, with the first and third bays featuring two-storey canted bay windows with five lights. The second and fifth bays have four-light rectangular bay windows, while the fourth bay has a four-light window beneath a tile canopy. The first floor includes a four-light pedimented roof dormer in the second bay, canted oriels with a tile canopy in the fourth bay, and a two-light pedimented roof dormer in the fifth bay. The entrances have doors with leaded lights, and the fourth bay has a lean-to porch. The houses have two cross-axial stacks and gable-end stacks with brick caps, and the gable ends are tile-hung. The rear of the houses is similar and includes privies.
