Description

29 to 33 Lower Road are three houses built in 1907 by J. Lomax Simpson. The buildings feature a plaster exterior with a brick base and tile-hanging, topped by a hipped tile roof. They are two storeys tall and consist of four bays, with the fourth bay breaking forward under a hipped gable. The first three bays have tile-hanging on the first floor. The windows are leaded casements, with the ground floor showcasing 4-light windows and a two-storey canted bay window with tile-hanging on the end bay. The first floor has 3-light windows flanking a 5-light canted oriel that has a tile base. The entrances are adorned with small-paned lights. The left return features a projecting bay, with a canted ground floor that has a tile canopy and a rectangular bay on the first floor, both with 3-light windows. There is a porch under a cat-slide roof and two cross-axial stacks. The rear of the houses is similar, with a plaster first floor and small-paned casements.
