Description

Old Hall is an office building that was originally a shooting box for the Earl of Derby. It features a rainwater head with the Derby crest, depicting an eagle and child in a cradle, and is dated 1773. The building was altered in the late 19th century. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a stone slate roof. The structure is two storeys high and consists of four bays. There is a cornice along the top.

On the ground floor, the first two bays have windows with wedge lintels, while the end bay features a late 19th-century canted bay window, all fitted with sash windows. The central part of the ground floor has a late 19th-century gabled porch, and to the left, there is a two-bay timber verandah with a lean-to roof. The first floor has windows with plain lintels and roll mouldings on the soffits, fitted with casements. The return walls were added in the late 19th century and display raised brick patterns, along with gable end stacks. There is also a parallel rear range. The building is included for its group value.
