Description
Falkner Terrace is a terrace of eleven houses, now converted into flats, dating from 1831 as indicated on the rainwater head. The building is constructed of stucco and features a slate roof. It stands three storeys high with a basement, originally designed with three bays for each house, although the end houses have been demolished. The former houses numbered 161 to 167 project forward from the main facade.
Architectural details include a basement lintel band and channelled rustication on the ground floor, along with a frieze and cornice at the first floor level. The top features a frieze, cornice, and parapet. The former houses 161 to 167 also display pilastrade on the first floor and recessed panels between the second-floor windows. The right end of the terrace has a pilaster on the first floor and an incised pilaster on the second floor.
The windows are sashed with glazing bars, and there are paired entrances with flat pilasters and entablatures, although the entrances to the end house have been altered to a single entrance. The doors are four-panel designs. Additionally, there are iron area railings with spear heads and iron balconies at the first-floor windows of the former houses 161 to 167.
