Description
No. 140 on Upper Parliament Street is a house built in the 1830s. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. The building has three storeys and a basement, with a total of four bays. There is a lintel band at the basement level, a sill band at the first floor, and a frieze, cornice, and blocking course at the top. The windows on the ground and first floors are framed with architraves. The end bay includes tripartite sash windows, with a similar tripartite window at the top. The entrance in the third bay features a glazed doorcase, a frieze, and a consoled cornice. Above the entrance, there is a window with a pierced apron, which also has a frieze and consoled pediment. All windows are sashed and do not have glazing bars. Additionally, there are decorative iron railings surrounding the area and steps leading to the entrance.
