Description
Holmefield, now part of I. M. Marsh College of Physical Education, is an early 19th-century house constructed of stucco with a hipped roof. The building is two storeys high and features five bays across the front, with the end bays projecting forward. There is a sill course at the ground floor, a sill band at the first floor, and a top frieze and cornice. The windows are sash, with glazing bars on those to the left return and a casement in the central window on the first floor. The entrance includes glazed panels and flat pilasters framing the doorcase, which has a complete overlight and a two-panel door, along with an Ionic porch supported by paired pilasters. A rear range projects from both sides of the house.
