Description
This is a house located at 1 Aigburth Hall Avenue, built in the late 19th century. The exterior is roughcast with a slate roof and features two storeys plus an attic. The building has four bays, with the end bay being recessed and lower than the others, which are arranged symmetrically under a hipped slate roof. The end bays project forward and are topped with red brick coped shaped gables. The house has a brick base, a brick first floor sill band, and boxed eaves. The windows are small-paned casements, and the ground floor includes canted bays with deep friezes and cornices. Above these, the first floor windows have central round-headed lights and shutters. There is a central four-light window on the first floor above a recessed porch, which is supported by central paired Tuscan columns and features an entablature. Behind the porch is a three-light mullioned window and entrance. The house also has a central dormer and tall flanking stacks. The left return of the building is similar in design.
