Description

The building at 18 Beechwood Road, and formerly listed with No. 16, was constructed in the mid-19th century as two houses. It is built of stucco and has a slate roof. The two-storey structure has three bays, with a lower central bay and a projecting end bay under a gable. The windows are casements with two and three lights. The first bay features a rectangular bay window with a cornice. Ground floor windows have margin lights. The end bay has a 4-centre head window with small panes and Y-tracery on the first floor. Decorative barge boards are present. A projecting porch has cusped barge boards and a segmental-headed entrance with a 4-panel studded door. Two brick stacks are visible. The right return features a rectangular bay window and a 4-centre head window above, both with margin lights. The left return consists of three bays, with the first bay recessed and the end bay gabled as on the front elevation. A central entrance is present on this return. The building is included on the list for group value.
