Description

The entrance gates at the corner of Aigburth Road and Mossley Hill Drive were built around 1870 by André and Hornblower. The central screen wall features four granite piers and a central stone panel displaying the Liverpool arms, topped with a pavilion roof and gablet. Flanking this are three-bay cusped arcades. On either side of the entrance are two gate piers, each adorned with stone capitals and caps, although the gates themselves have been removed. Two lanterns are still present, and there is iron cresting on the pavilion roof.
