Description
Fulwood Lodge is a lodge built around 1870 by architects Andre and Hornblower. It features red brick accented with blue brick and stone, topped by a steep slate roof. The building is designed in an L-shape with a porch at the angle and has two storeys. The first floor showcases planted timbers over brickwork. A tall central chimney stack is prominent. The facade facing Aigburth Road includes two projecting ground floor windows, each with half dormers above that have balconies. The timber-framed porch has open sides. On the left side, there is a lean-to on the ground floor, with a half-dormer above it to the left of an enclosed porch that has a hipped roof and a decorated doorcase featuring figures. To the right, there is a projecting bay with a canted bay window and a rectangular oriel beneath a gable adorned with decorative bargeboards. The rear elevation displays a bracketed oriel in a half-hipped gable, flanked by lean-to gables that include quatrefoil windows.
