Description

The lodge dates to approximately 1840 and has a stone slate roof. It is two storeys in height, with three bays. The central two-storey bay projects forward beneath a gable, while the flanking bays are single-storey. A cornice runs along the top of the building. The windows have decorative moulding above them. The entrance has a slightly pointed arch and a hood mould above. Two chimney stacks with octagonal flues flank the central bay. A garden gate to the south-east features a corbelled, cusped arch flanked by attached columns, topped with a parapet containing four trefoil-headed openings. This lodge demonstrates group value by representing an important element of the original formal landscape.
