Description
No. 2 Hardman Street, which also includes No. 25 Rodney Street, is a house built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. The building stands three storeys high, with a basement on Rodney Street, and features three bays across its front.
The facade has a cornice above the ground floor and a sill course at the first floor, topped with an entablature. The ground floor windows are adorned with stone architraves and decorated panels above and below. To the left of the entrance, there is a tripartite sash window supported by colonnettes. The entrance itself is elaborate, featuring a round-headed design with flanking columns, a mask keystone, and a hood decorated with acroteria.
On the first floor, the windows have lintels decorated with swags and consoled cornices, while the second floor has segmental-headed windows. All windows are sashed and do not have glazing bars, with the upper windows in the last bay being blind. The facade facing Rodney Street is similar but has a plain round-headed entrance and a canted bay window to the right. The building is topped with prominent moulded chimneys.
