Description
Roscoe House is an early 19th-century house located on Rodney Street. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. The building has three storeys and a basement, featuring five bays. The stone basement includes a top cornice with a blocking course. The windows have wedge lintels and are sashed, with the second-floor windows featuring glazing bars.
The central entrance is round-headed and has a Doric doorcase with a complete fanlight above. The window above the entrance is adorned with an architrave and a consoled cornice that has scroll cresting. The central window on the second floor also has an architrave. There are plain iron area railings, and a balcony on the first floor. The inner doors are half-glazed within an architrave, with a decorative panel above. At the rear of the hall, there is an open wall staircase that features iron balusters.
