Description

Nos. 2 to 12 Huskisson Street, which includes No. 51 Hope Street, is a terrace of seven houses built in the 1830s. The buildings are constructed of stucco and feature a hipped slate roof. They rise three storeys with a basement, and each house has three bays, while the end two bays form the return of No. 51 Hope Street. The terrace has a basement lintel band, and the ground floor showcases channelled rustication. There are sill bands on the first and second floors, topped with an entablature and a blocking course.

The ground floor windows are sashed without glazing bars and have entablatures and panelled aprons. The first-floor windows are casements, while the second-floor windows are sashed with glazing bars. The entrances are adorned with architraves, friezes, and consoled cornices, and they feature complete overlights and half-glazed doors. The areas and steps are enclosed by railings with spearhead finials. No. 51 Hope Street has seven bays, with the end two bays projecting and rising only two storeys.
