Description

These are three houses located at 47, 49, and 51 Catharine Street, dating from the 1830s. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings and have a slate roof. The houses have three storeys plus a basement. No. 47 has four bays, while Nos. 49 and 51 each have three bays. A band runs along the basement lintel, and another marks the sill level of the first floor. Decorative frieze, cornices, and a blocking course are at the top of the building. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars and are topped with wedge-shaped lintels. Each house has Ionic columned porches to its entrances; Nos. 49 and 51 share a paired porch with three columns. Decorative iron railings enclose the areas. No. 47 has a two-bay return to Huskisson Street, featuring blind windows above the entrance. Nos. 49 and 51 each contain one blind window on the second floor.
