Description
Number 11 is a former Conservative Club, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings, and has a slate roof. The building is five bays wide and stands three storeys high. It has a stone base, a sill band to the first floor, a top frieze that is fluted, a cornice, and a blocking course. The windows have wedge lintels and sashed glazing bars; the ground floor windows were boarded in 1985. The round-headed entrance has an aedicule with Doric half-columns, a fluted frieze, and a pediment. The building is raised above street level, supported by 19th-century rusticated stone retaining walls. The property includes gatepiers and wallpiers with rusticated panels and pedimented caps.
