Description
Hellifield House is a former house, now a club, built in the late 18th century to early 19th century in two phases. The building features rendered walls with painted stone dressings and a stone slate roof. It has a former central staircase plan and stands two storeys tall with four bays. The entrance, located slightly to the right of the centre, has a moulded surround and a decorated lintel with a pulvinated frieze, leading to a six-panel door. To the left of the centre is a former entrance that has been partly blocked to create a mid-20th century window with a nine-pane fixed light. The ground floor has three windows and the upper floor has four, all with plain surrounds and 20th-century casements. The eaves are shaped with modillions, and there is a central ridge stack at the former gable end, with another ridge stack to the left. The gable ends feature coping. Inside, there is a dog-leg staircase with stick balusters.
