Description
Rook Cottage is likely a former toll house that has been converted into a cottage. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of limewashed rubble with painted stone dressings and a slate roof that is hipped at the left-hand return. The building has an L-shaped plan and is a single storey with three bays. The entrance, located to the right of the centre, features a plain surround and a 20th-century plank door. There are three windows: a central two-light flat faced mullioned window, with single-light windows on either side, which are 1970s casements. The cottage has ridge stacks on the left-hand and right of centre. There is also a single bay rear wing to the right. The interior is not accessible for viewing. Rook Cottage is included in the listing for its group value with other nearby structures.
