Description
The wash house, located approximately 5 metres south-west of Rothwell House, is a building from the late 19th century that now serves as a store. It is constructed of red brick in English garden wall bond and features a slate roof. The building is small and rectangular, with a doorway on the right side and a 3-light sliding sash window on each long wall. There is a chimney on the left gable. Inside, there is a large rectangular stone fireplace, although the cast-iron oven-and-boiler range has been removed for cleaning. Additionally, a washing boiler is situated in the corner to the right of the fireplace. This wash house forms a group with Rothwell House, which is located approximately 5 metres to the north-east, and is included for its group value.
