Description

Holland Hall Hotel is a house, originally dating back to 1654, located on Lafford Lane in Up Holland. A datestone bearing the date 1654 and an eagle-and-child carving is visible in the west gable. The building began as a U-shaped 17th-century house, which was remodelled in the 18th century. This later phase included a prominent pedimented doorway with flanking windows, though this feature is now largely hidden by later additions to the building.

The interior retains some original features from the mid-18th century, including the doorway and flanking sash windows, with a pedimented moulded architrave and a studded board door. There is some muntin-and-rail panelling in a room to the right of the entrance hall, as well as a doglegged open-string staircase with scrolled brackets, turned balusters, and a ramped handrail. On the first floor, there is a rectangular chamber fireplace with a moulded surround, and some original stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
