Description

Vine Cottage is a house built in the early 19th century, with slight alterations. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone and has a slate roof. The building features a double-depth, double-fronted plan, standing two storeys high with three symmetrical windows. Notable architectural details include a plinth, rusticated quoins, and a moulded gutter cornice. The central round-headed doorway has a stone surround with imposts, a raised moulded rim, and a carved keystone, along with a six-panel door and a traceried fanlight above it. The windows are 16-pane unhorned sashes with raised sills and wedge lintels that mimic voussoirs. There are gable chimneys, and a 20th-century addition is set back at the right-hand end.
