Description

33 Burscough Street is a house, or shop with a dwelling above, now functioning as a shop. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and has been altered. The building is constructed of brown brick in Flemish bond, featuring a sandstone plinth and dressings, with a concrete tile roof. It has a double-depth plan and a short back extension. The structure stands three storeys tall and has two windows. The ground floor has been entirely remodeled in the 20th century. The first floor features 16-pane sashed windows, while the second floor has square 12-pane sashes (8+4 panes), all with raised sills. The first-floor windows are topped with wedge lintels. A moulded gutter cornice runs along the top. The right-hand gable is made of hand-made brick. The rear of the building has 20th-century steps leading to the second floor and altered windows.
