Description
69 Low Petergate is a house with a shop, now functioning solely as a shop. It dates from the mid-19th century and has undergone some later alterations, including changes to the 19th-century shopfront. The building is constructed of orange brick in Flemish bond and features a timber shopfront with a modillion eaves cornice. The roof is slate with a brick stack.
The exterior has a three-storey, three-window front. The shopfront is framed by raised panel pilasters and includes a two-light plate glass window and a glazed and panelled door, all beneath a panelled fascia and a modillioned cornice supported by scrolled brackets. The first-floor windows are four-pane sashes with flat arches made of gauged brick, while the second-floor windows are twelve-pane sashes. Both floors have stone window sills that extend as one-course brick sill bands. The interior has not been inspected.
