Description
This barn, located 5 metres east of Pickering's Farm, is likely from the 18th century. It features a stone plinth and brick walls with quoins up to half height, topped by a slate roof. The barn has an L-shaped plan with an outshut at the rear of the left half and consists of four bays. The east front includes a wagon doorway that is offset to the right of centre, complete with a wooden lintel and an elliptical brick relieving arch. There is a small square window at the left end and a blocked doorway to the left of the wagon door. The front also has six pairs of ventilation slits arranged on two levels. The south gable displays a brick band and three doorways, along with a blocked door and window at the first-floor level. The rear wall features an inserted window in the third bay and paired ventilation slits.
