Description

Edisford Bridge Farmhouse and Edisford Bridge Cottage are early 19th-century houses built from sandstone rubble with a slate roof. They are two storeys high. The south front features a single-storey modern stone porch on the right. To the left of the porch, there are two bays with sashed windows that have glazing bars intersecting at the top, all framed by plain stone surrounds with ogee heads. Between these bays, there is a door that has been blocked to form a window; it originally had a plain stone surround with a semi-circular head, projecting keystone, and moulded imposts. There are chimneys on both the left and right sides of the two bays. To the left, there is a later addition from around 1900 that lacks significant architectural interest. The right-hand gable has a projecting central section with three windows similar to those on the south front, as well as ground and first-floor windows in the left bay and a first-floor window in the right bay. The central section features a Venetian window with a plain stone surround on the first floor. The door in the right-hand bay, which was formerly located in the centre of the wall, has a stone surround with a moulded semi-circular head, impost blocks, and a projecting keystone.
