Description

This guidepost, dating from 1816, is located 50 metres north-west of Harrisons on Wood House Lane in Slaidburn. It is made of sandstone and has a rectangular shape with a flat top. The front face of the guidepost is inscribed with 'To Hornby', while the right-hand face reads 'To Slaidburn'. The left-hand face is illegible, and the rear features the inscription '1816'. The guidepost stands on the road that crosses Salter Fell to Hornby, which is now only used as a footpath.
