Description

The Old Guide Post at the junction with Storthes Hall Road is a guide post dated 1861. It is a square stone post topped with a dome. The post features inscriptions in capital letters on two faces, indicating directions: "TO KIRKBURTON," "TO FARNLEY," "TO JOHN," "TO BOTTOMLEY," and "THURSTONLAND," along with the word "SURVEYOR" and the date "1861." Each inscription is accompanied by a stylised hand pointing in the respective direction.
