4/72 Cracoe (or Cracow) Hill Farmhouse 16.11.1954 - II House, 1691, altered. Slobbered rubble with stone slate roof. 3-cell plan. 2 storeys. Original windows have double-chamfered surrounds. To the left of the door is a window with the remains of original jambs and with a hood with one spiral stop. To the right is a similar window with ovolo-moulded hood. At the far right is an original window with one mullion remaining and an ovolo-moulded hood. On the 1st floor are 4 windows, the inner ones having plain reveals and the outer ones having the remains of original surrounds. The door has a chamfered surround and shaped lintel, inscribed: WMC IAL 1691'. To its left is a second, blocked, doorway. Chimneys on gables and in line with door. The left-hand return wall has a blocked one-light window with hood and spiral stops. On the 1st floor at the rear is a chamfered one-light window with segmental head. Interior. The central room has a deep chimney breast with modern fireplace, in line with the front door. The chamfered axial main ceiling joists are scarfed in front of the chimney breast, suggesting that a firehood bressumer may have been removed.
