5/60 Brook House Farmhouse and integral barn

Farmhouse, dated 1666 on stone over door inside porch, but probably earlier C18, altered c.1933, now house. Sandstone random rubble with quoins, recently slobbered, left gable of scored stucco, slate roof with gable chimney. Rectangular 4-bay plan including the barn, the house formerly one bay only and the barn 3, but altered to make 2 bays each. Gable to road. Two storeys: gabled single-storey porch (modern renovation incorporating part of wall to formerly very small garden), to the left one 3-light chamfered mullion window on each floor, to the right a door and a inserted 1st floor window imitating the others. Rear has two 2-light chamfered mullion windows at ground floor and are above. Barn continued to right has segmental-headed wagon entrance, a door to right. Interior: inner doorway under porch has moulded sandstone surround, heavily-studded oak door; barn has 2 roof trusses with cambered tie-beams, kingposts with struts to the principals and above these curved struts to the ridge; 2 pairs of purlins.
