Description

Stump Cross is a restored wayside cross located on Ashley Lane in Whittingham. The base of the cross is likely from the late medieval period and is made of sandstone. It features a massive rounded boulder with a short modern cross mounted on top. A metal plate on the front of the base indicates that it was discovered during excavations in 1931.
