5/44 Eaves Green Farmhouse and wall enclosing front garden

Farmhouse, late C18, slightly altered. Brick with stone dressings, slate roof. Double-depth 3-bay plan. Three storeys, symmetrical, with gable chimneys; plinth of 2 courses of large dressed blocks, rusticated quoins, moulded gutter cornice; central doorway with plain stone surround, moulded segmental canopy supported by beaked brackets, 2 windows at ground floor and 3 on each floor above, all with stone sills and splayed rusticated heads with fan-pattern keystones, those at 2nd floor shorter, and all with altered glazing. Rear has large square windows with large rectangular lintels and altered glazing, and in the centre a full-height 3-stage round headed stairlight with imposts and keystone, the lower stage partly covered by an added single-storey lean-to. In front of the house a garden area c.5 metres deep is enclosed by a rubble wall c.1 metre high with a rounded coping of dressed stone, broken in the centre by a gateway with dressed stone piers, the tops rounded like the coping.
