Description
Eaves Green Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse that has been slightly altered. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. The building has a double-depth, three-bay plan and stands three storeys high with a symmetrical facade and gable chimneys. The plinth consists of two courses of large dressed blocks, and it features rusticated quoins and a moulded gutter cornice. The central doorway has a plain stone surround and a moulded segmental canopy supported by beaked brackets. There are two windows at the ground floor and three on each floor above, all with stone sills and splayed rusticated heads that have fan-pattern keystones. The windows on the second floor are shorter, and all have altered glazing.
At the rear of the farmhouse, there are large square windows with large rectangular lintels and altered glazing. In the center, there is a full-height, three-stage round-headed stairlight with imposts and a keystone; the lower stage is partly covered by an added single-storey lean-to. In front of the house, there is a garden area approximately 5 metres deep, enclosed by a rubble wall about 1 metre high. The wall has a rounded coping made of dressed stone and features a gateway in the center with dressed stone piers that have rounded tops, matching the coping.
