Description
The Cottage is a farmhouse, now a house, dated 1771 at the first floor and has been recently extended. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with quoins and features a slate roof. The building has a double-depth, two-bay plan with its gable facing the road. It stands two storeys tall and is symmetrical in design, featuring gable chimneys. The central doorway is protected by an added gabled porch, and there are two three-light windows on each floor, all with flush stone mullions, except for the left ground floor window which has wooden mullions and glazing bars. The first floor has a datestone inscribed with "T J M 1771." The recent extension to the right matches the original style and materials but is not of special interest. The rear of the building has some mullioned windows.
