Description
This barn, located approximately 30 meters east of Moon's Farmhouse, likely dates from the late 17th century. It is constructed of handmade brick, with some sandstone blocks found in the rear outshut and the lower part of the front wall. The barn features a steeply-pitched corrugated sheet roof and consists of four bays, with the fourth bay being a lofted shippon that projects outward.
The exterior includes diamond-pattern breathers on two levels and in the right gable. There are full-height wooden wagon doors in the third bay, and a doorway at the left end with a large stone lintel. The right gable wall has three doorways; the outer two, which have stone lintels, have been altered to serve as windows, while the center doorway features a wooden lintel. Inside, there is a brick partition for the shippon, which supports a collar truss with curved principals made of small scantling.
