Description

The wall on the north side of the courtyard west of Ashton Hall dates from around 1600 and has been altered. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features stepped triangular coping. This wall connects Ashton Hall with the Gatehouse. The coping rises over a blocked doorway that has a moulded surround and a segmental arch.
