Description
No. 342 Marine Road Central is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of sandstone ashlar and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys with an attic and consists of two bays. The windows are glazing bar sashes with chamfered surrounds. The right-hand bay includes a two-storey canted bay window, which is adorned with two string courses and a parapet with coping. The forward-facing windows are paired and separated by a timber mullion. Above a moulded cornice, there are two 6-pane attic dormer windows with stone surrounds and slated cheeks, situated beneath a pair of gables that have timber finials and pierced bargeboards. The door, located in the left-hand bay, features a straight hood mould. There is a chimney on the right with octagonal shafts.
