Description
Mossmire House and 21 Main Street are two houses dating from the mid to late 18th century, constructed of sandstone rubble with a blue slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high. Mossmire House, on the left, is the earlier of the two and consists of two bays. It features 2-light mullioned windows with a slight chamfer, and the ground floor mullions have been restored in timber. Between the bays, there is a door with a stone surround, which has a slightly arched lintel, a fluted false keystone, and a cornice. Number 21, on the right, has one bay with windows that have plain reveals. Its door, located on the right, has a plain stone surround and is topped with a hood made of two pitched stone slates. Both houses have chimneys on the gables and between them, with the right-hand chimney featuring a brick cap.
