Description
This property comprises a house and a bank, dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is built of sandstone rubble with a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of three distinct sections.
The leftmost section, number 30 (Riverside Cottage), is two bays wide. It features window surrounds with slight chamfers and flat-faced mullions of three lights on the ground floor and two lights above. The door, in the right-hand bay, has a cyma-moulded surround and a lintel with a depressed ogee shape with rosette decoration, topped by a slate hood on brackets.
The central and right-hand sections, numbers 28 and 26 (National Westminster Bank), are three bays wide. The ground floor features two two-light windows with flush chamfered mullions. To their right is a window with a plain stone surround. On the first floor, the outer bays have windows with plain stone surrounds, while the middle window has a rebated and chamfered surround. The windows in the two left-hand bays have glazing bars. The door, at the right, has a surround and hood similar to that of number 30. Chimneys are located on the left-hand gable, in line with the door of number 28, and to the right of the second bay of number 28.
