Description
Crook Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century that has been altered over time. It is constructed of pebbledashed rubble and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys, with the west facade facing the sea. This facade includes modern windows with plain reveals; there are five windows on the ground floor, with first-floor windows positioned above the second, fourth, and fifth ground-floor windows. A chimney is located to the right of the third window and another on the right-hand gable, which has a weathered offset and a cornice. The gables are topped with copings and kneelers. At the rear, there is a later wing that extends at right angles to the main structure. To the left of this wing, a door has been cut into the rear wall of the main house, framed by a window surround that retains the remains of two trefoiled heads. To the right of the wing, there is a modern window within a similar surround.
Inside, the middle room features two chamfered axial main joists. The southern room also has two similar joists and a chamfered and stopped firehood bressumer. A small spice cupboard in this room has a door of 17th-century design. On the first floor, there is a door of 17th-century style, constructed from pine.
