Description
Great Mearley Cottage is a house from the late 17th century that has been altered. It is constructed of pebbledashed rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays. The ground floor windows are mullioned, with double chamfers and hoods, while the first-floor windows have chamfers. The windows to the right of the door on the ground floor are likely from the 17th century and consist of four and three lights. To the left, there is a four-light window that appears to be from the 19th century. On the first floor, there are three 3-light windows, also from the 19th century. Above the door, there is a blank plaque with a chamfered surround, and the door itself has a chamfered surround, partly featuring 19th-century tooling. A chimney is located on the left-hand gable and between the second and third bays. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey.
