Description
Elswick Lodge Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 18th century, although it may be older and was altered at that time. The building features cobble walls that have been raised in brick and are now rendered and painted white. It has a slate roof with gable chimneys. The farmhouse consists of three bays and two storeys, with a later extension added to the rear. The doorway is located at the junction of the first and second bays and is sheltered by a light wooden porch. There are three segmental-headed three-light windows on each floor, with the upper windows positioned lower than those below. Inside, there is an unusual arrangement of a staircase located at the center of the back wall, with three separate flights leading to the first bay, the third bay, and the rear extension.
