Description
Ivy House is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 18th century and has been extended to the right. It is constructed of handmade brick and features a slate roof with gable chimneys, one of which is located at the junction with the extension. The original structure consists of two bays, with a short outshut on the first bay that houses the staircase. There is a later extension at the rear of the second bay, and an additional bay has been added at the right end. The building stands two storeys tall, with the original part being almost symmetrical, featuring a central door and two square cross windows on each floor. All windows have wooden mullions and transoms, with glazing bars that create a total of 30 panes. To the left, there is an abutting farm building (not included in this listing), and a 19th-century continuation to the right. The rear of the building is of less architectural interest. Inside, there is an inglenook bressumer with stopped ovolo moulding, a door to the parlour with a shouldered fielded panel, and a dogleg staircase with a raised handgrip.
