Description
Plane Tree Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse located in Greenhalgh-with-Thistleton. It features white painted roughcast render on brick and a slate roof, with a chimney positioned at the front ridge where the first and second bays meet, and another chimney at the right gable. The building has a three-bay baffle-entry plan, with a full-height outshut at the rear of the third bay and a later extension added to the first bay.
The farmhouse is two storeys tall and includes a later 19th-century gabled porch at the junction of the first and second bays. There are three 3-light windows on each floor, with the ground floor windows having segmental heads. The sides and rear of the building are of less architectural interest.
Inside, the first bay features an inglenook fireplace with a chamfered bressumer, while the second bay contains two beams. The doors throughout the interior have three fielded panels.
