Description
Threlfalls Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 17th century and was altered in the 18th century. It now serves as both a farmhouse and a cottage. The building is constructed of whitewashed rendered brick and features a slate roof with two levels and three rendered chimneys. It has a three-bay baffle-entry plan, which has been extended by the addition of one bay to the left end, and includes a rear staircase outshut to the original first bay. The farmhouse has two storeys, with the upper floor set back, possibly raised from a single storey in the 18th century. The left end addition is a high single storey.
There is a panelled door aligned with the ridge chimney at the junction of the second and third bays, along with three windows on the ground floor and four above, including one in the addition. All windows are horizontal sliding sashes with glazing bars, except for the fixed window at the right end of the ground floor. The rear of the building features two doors, a small firewindow, and a two-light mullioned stairlight in the outshut.
Inside, there are back-to-back inglenook fireplaces with chamfered cambered bressummers, beams with tongue-stopped chamfer, and fielded panel doors leading to the pantry and staircase.
