Description

Bushells Arms is a public house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with quoins, featuring a stuccoed front and roughcast sides, topped with a slate roof that has a moulded stone eaves cornice. The building is L-shaped and has two storeys. The symmetrical three-bay main range includes a central doorway with pilaster jambs and an elliptical fanlight with radiating glazing bars. There are two 16-pane sashed windows on the ground floor and three above, all with plain surrounds, along with a gable chimney. To the left, a projecting gabled wing has two similar windows on the ground floor and a painted coat of arms above, along with a gable chimney. The left return wall features a large coupled window on each floor. The interior has been altered. This building is located in Goosnargh Village and has group value with the Church of St. Mary and Bushells Hospital.
