Description
The Sun Inn is a public house built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from squared, coursed sandstone and features a slate roof. The main section of the building faces northeast and is symmetrical, with end stacks. It has two storeys, an attic, and a cellar, with three bays. The windows are sashed, have no glazing bars, and are framed with architraves. A string course runs along the building. Access to the door is via a double flight of external stone steps with an iron handrail. The door itself has an architrave with a cable-moulded border and a moulded cornice. There is a cellar entrance located under the left-hand window. Some stone gutter corbels are still visible. The right-hand gable features a two-light mullioned and chamfered attic window. Attached to the gable is a set-back extension, which includes a single-storey bay that continues the line of the front wall and has a window similar to those on the front.
