Description
The Grapes Inn is a public house, likely built in the late 18th century and early 19th century, with some alterations. It is constructed of stuccoed stone with quoins and has a slate roof that is slightly uneven in height. The building has a double depth plan, probably made in three phases, consisting of one, two, and two bays that step forward slightly. There are coupled chimneys on the ridge at the first junction, with two more behind the ridge and one at the gable of the third unit. The inn is two storeys high, featuring an entrance door located under a gabled wooden porch on the right side of the middle unit. To the left of the door is a horizontal window with a label, and above it are two square windows, all of which have altered glazing. The single bay set back to the left has a door at the left corner and a vertical rectangular window on each floor, both also with altered glazing. The third unit, to the right of the door, includes a large triple sash window and a vertical rectangular window at ground floor, both with labels, and two sashed windows without glazing bars on the first floor. The interior is of less interest.
