Description
The building is a former farmhouse, stables, and cottages located on the south side of the courtyard, approximately 20 metres south of the Great Barn. It likely dates back to the 17th century and has undergone various alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. As of 1984, it is in the process of restoration and conversion into an arts centre. The structure is made of sandstone rubble with quoins and features a stone slate roof. It has an L-shaped plan that forms the south-east corner of the courtyard.
The left (east) range may have originally served as a barn but was altered into a farmhouse in the early 18th century. This range includes plain doorways and several small chamfered mullion windows, mostly with three lights, as well as some blocked openings, including breathers. The rear of this range is similar in appearance. The right (south) range was formerly two or three cottages, likely built in the later 18th century, and features larger flush-mullion windows and three inserted doors. Inside, large chamfered beams are visible in the east range and the south-east corner.
