SD 83 SW IGHTENHILL GAWTHORPE

4/21 Gate piers and boundary wall to courtyard of former home farm to Gawthorpe Hall - GV II Boundary wall to north-west, west, and south sides of irregularly-shaped cobbled yard, with gateway and door at south-west angle; probably C19. Wall c.3 metres high, of coursed sandstone blocks with rounded coping, linked on north to west extension of Great Barn (q.v.) and on south to outbuilding of Estate Office (q.v.). Square gate piers c.4 metres high, rusticated ashlar with moulded caps and ball finials; Tudor-arched doorway c.2 metres west of gateway.
