Description

This barn, located to the southwest of number 444 on Atherton Road in Hindley, is likely from the 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of brick and features a stone slate roof. The barn consists of three bays and has a central entrance with an elliptical head, along with entrances at both ends, the right one having a round head. There are inserted windows present. Inside, the barn has hewn purlins supported by 19th-century kingpost trusses with struts. This building is included for its group value.
