Description

The barn and shippon located to the north-west of Hawkhurst Farmhouse date from the early 18th century and 19th century. They are constructed from English garden wall bond brick and feature a slate and metal roof. The structure includes a lower three-bay shippon on the left, which is connected to the barn by a 19th-century extension. The barn has opposing cart entries with cheek walls and tiers of honeycomb vents on each side. Later additions include buttresses. Inside the barn, there are inclined strut tie-beam roof trusses. The shippon has three doors.
